Junior Syndicate News

Well, we are halfway through the term already!  Time sure does fly when you are having fun!  The Junior Syndicate children are having a wonderful time with their ‘Creative Kids’ unit.  Lots of art work has been produced, dances and drama activities have been performed and musical numbers are being practiced.  You will get to see all their lovely learning in a couple of weeks’ time at our ‘Creative Kids’ Exhibition.  A notice will be coming home shortly about this.

Next week we have the HSS Showcase which involves a number of children across the school.  This will be a great showcase of all the talented children at Hampden Street School.  Get your tickets at the office!

The children had a wonderful time at the disco this week.  Check out our photos below of the “Wild Things” in our syndicate!!

Kind regards,   Jody, Catherine, Christine, Kate, Kim, Pat, Jen, Jade, Savanna & Scott

Reminders

  • We would love some parent help in returning our Junior readers back to their boxes in our book room.  Please let Jody Drummond know in Room 10 if you can help with this.  Thank you.
  • Please ensure that your child’s clothing is clearly named.  We regularly have piles of unclaimed clothes and shoes left at school. Please find Lost Property at the end of Room 6.
  • If you have any concerns about your child please make an appointment to see his/her teacher first. If you have further concerns please make an appointment to see Catherine Barris, Deputy Principal or Jody Drummond, Senior Teacher, who are both responsible for the Year 0 - 2 classes.
  • Our school library is wonderful resource and we will be encouraging the children to issue library books.  They will be reminded to return their books each week, as they do with their readers and homework.  Please support us by encouraging your child to issue a book of interest each week.
  • This term is a Sunhat term.  Please ensure your child has a named, wide brim sunhat to wear for all outside activities.  Thank you.
